Frequency Tracker is a trading journal and discipline tracker built for futures traders — particularly traders on funded prop firm accounts who already know the basics but struggle with consistency.
Most trading journals show you one thing: your P&L. That tells you what happened. It doesn't tell you why.
Frequency Tracker tracks the decisions behind your trades, not just the outcomes:
Custom rule checklists — define your own trading rules, then see whether following them actually correlates with better results, using real compliance-vs-P&L data instead of a gut feeling.
Emotional state tagging — log how you were feeling before you entered a trade, and see which states are quietly costing you money.
FOMO & revenge trade cost tracking — see the real, aggregate dollar cost of impulsive trades over time, not just a vague sense that "you shouldn't have taken that one."
Trade management cost tracking — every stop widened or target moved after entry gets tracked as its own line item, so you can see whether your in-trade adjustments are actually helping or quietly bleeding money.
Auto-import from NinjaTrader — trades sync in real time via a NinjaScript addon, no manual CSV uploads required for your day-to-day journaling.
Who it's for
Frequency Tracker is built for traders who are already trading — not a beginner education product. If you're looking to learn how to trade from scratch, this isn't the right starting point. If you already trade and want to understand your own patterns well enough to fix them, this is exactly what it's for.
What it isn't
Frequency Tracker doesn't place trades, give trade signals, or manage your account for you. It's a journal and analytics tool that sits alongside your trading — it observes and reports, it doesn't trade.
Frequency Tracker is a desktop app available for both Windows and Mac. Here's the full setup flow from download to first login.
Step 1 — Find it in your library
Head to frequencytracker.app → Sign in → Your Library, and open Frequency Tracker - Inside the App. You'll find all the setup and tutorial videos there. The download itself lives under Frequency Tracker - Download.
Step 2 — Download the right version
Mac (M1/M2/M3/M4) — Frequency-Tracker-Mac-x.x.x-arm64.dmg
Mac (older Intel) — Frequency-Tracker-Mac-x.x.x-x64.dmg
Windows — choose the Windows installer
Not sure which Mac chip you have? Click the Apple menu → About This Mac. If it lists "Apple M1/M2/M3/M4," use the first option. If it lists an Intel processor, use the second.
Step 3 — Install and open
Windows: Run the installer, then launch Frequency Tracker from your Start Menu or desktop shortcut.
Mac: Before opening the app for the first time, download and run Install_Frequency_Tracker_For_Mac.command (found alongside the download). This handles first-launch setup for you. After that, open the app from your Applications folder as normal.
Heads up: You may see a security warning during installation on Mac or Windows. This is normal — we're currently in the process of obtaining our code signing certificate. On Windows, click "More Info" → "Run Anyway." On Mac, the install command above handles this for you automatically.
Step 4 — Log in
Use the same email you purchased with. The app verifies your access automatically and binds to that machine — see Creating your account & first login for details on how this works.
Updates
Frequency Tracker checks for updates automatically. When one's available, you'll see a banner at the bottom of the app with the option to install. Before major updates, you'll also be prompted to back up your data first — this is optional but recommended.
Troubleshooting installation
Windows: app icon looks wrong in the taskbar — this is a known Windows icon-cache issue after updating. See Troubleshooting for the fix.
Mac: "app is damaged and can't be opened" — this usually means the install command wasn't run first, or Gatekeeper blocked it. Re-download and run Install_Frequency_Tracker_For_Mac.command before opening the app.

Frequency Tracker doesn't use a traditional password — your subscription is tied directly to the email address you signed up with.
First login
Open Frequency Tracker after installing it.
Enter the email address you used when you subscribed (or started your free trial).
The app checks your subscription status automatically. If it's active, you're in.
That's it — no separate password to set or remember.
One machine per subscription
Each Frequency Tracker subscription is licensed for one computer at a time. The first time you log in, the app binds to that machine.
Install it on the machine you'll actually be trading on. If you ever need to switch to a new computer, email [email protected] and we'll move your license over — no need to figure this out yourself from inside the app.
"My email isn't being recognized"
A few things to check:
Make sure you're entering the exact email you subscribed with (not a different email you might normally use).
If you just subscribed, it can occasionally take a minute for your account to sync — try again shortly.
Make sure your internet is connected. The app does support offline use, but you must be connected to authenticate for the first time.

Here's a quick orientation to the main areas of Frequency Tracker.
Dashboard
Your home base — a snapshot of recent performance, today's activity, and quick access to journal today's trades. This is what you'll see first each time you open the app.
Calendar
A month-by-month view of your trading activity, color-coded by performance, so you can spot patterns over time — not just day to day.
Reports
Deeper analytics: performance by tag, rule compliance broken down by rule, comparisons across date ranges, and more.
Trades
A full list of every trade, individually or grouped across accounts if you trade the same setup on multiple funded accounts at once. Click into any trade to see its full detail: entry/exit, P&L, which rules you followed or broke, your emotional state, tags, and notes.
Risk
Everything related to managing your accounts and your process lives here, split across five sub-tabs:
Accounts — your connected accounts, balances, and current status at a glance.
Risk Calculator — a planning tool for multi-leg stop/target setups. Plan your risk before you're in the trade.
Breaches — a log of any account rule breaches (daily loss limits, drawdown limits, etc.), so you can see exactly when and why one happened.
Trading Rules — where you define your custom rule checklist, and you emotional states tracking.
Discipline — Frequency Tracker's core differentiator. See your rule-following rate over time, the real dollar cost of FOMO/revenge trades, and how your trade management decisions (widened stops, moved targets) are affecting your results in aggregate.
Settings
Everything account-related: your subscription, backups, tags, custom rules, database location, auto-import configuration, and mentor sharing.
Frequency Tracker offers a 7-day free trial with full access to the app — nothing held back or gated behind a higher tier.
What's included

What happens after the trial
If you don't cancel, your trial converts into a paid subscription (monthly or yearly, whichever you selected at signup). You'll get a reminder before this happens.
If you cancel during the trial, you won't be charged, and you'll keep access until the trial period ends.
